Welcome to the sentient collective market!
THRIVE
You’re welcome to stop by any Tuesday to see what we’re all about.
Our location is a pick up point for customers that have pre-ordered from our website,
but that shouldn’t stop you from coming by to visit. Occasionally, a few growers may bring
some extra items to sell to visitors, but the best selection is online.
If you want to keep up with our specials, farmer for the day and open market days,
it’s no charge to become a customer. Customers receive weekly newsletter’s telling them
all about what’s new at the market.
PLACING AN ORDER
To start ordering our fresh local food simply click on the “Sign In” tab and create an account. You will then start receiving our emails notifying you when ordering is enabled with a list of available products.
Every delivery week begins with shopping enabled at 7:30 am on Friday mornings until 6 pm on Sundays. Members place their order for that week on our website under the “The Market” tab. Orders are placed in a shopping cart for your review and final selection. Your ordered items will be packed and cold/frozen items will be in one of our refrigerators, freezers or coolers.
A newsletter/reminder will be emailed to customers on friday morning and sunday to update you on Market happenings and to remind you that the market is open. Orders are placed here on our website. To confirm that your order was completed, please check your email for a confirmation invoice. Give the system at least 30 minutes to generate a confirmation.
Unlike other co-ops, buying clubs, or CSAs where everyone gets the same box of stuff (and you don’t know what you’re getting until you get it), with Locally Grown you get to order what you want, in the quantities that you want, from the farms that you want. The weekly email lists the produce, milled products, fresh flowers, and artisan goods available that week, and you can browse the items on this website before you place your order.
WHY SUPPORT LOCALLY GROWN?
Enhance local economy: By purchasing produce and other items from local growers you are providing stability to your local economy through the support of local businesses.
Save natural resources: Buying locally makes you an invaluable link in the process of saving resources such as fossil fuels and packaging materials. Also, we are right here in your community so the expense of transportation and delivery is kept to a minimum.
Provide learning opportunities: Locally Grown supporters provide member growers the means to help educate our community about the importance of sustainable agriculture.
Supporting a way of life: The number of small farms in the United States has decreased dramatically in the last decade. Please help us preserve an honest and worthy means of making a living.
We believe that small, diverse, family-owned farms contribute to society’s overall health.
MEMBERSHIP
Why pay a membership? Customer and membership fees cover the cost of operating the market; market manager, transportation, and web store. You are welcome to try us for two orders before you pay the membership. The website will automatically add the membership fee to your third order as a separate billing for membership only.
Sponsor a membership! If you would like to sponsor a membership for an individual or family, please contact us.
One of the ways that sentient collective promotes social well being and connectedness is by facilitating and promoting the local food movement. By connecting people with fresh, local, sustainably grown food they better their health while providing opportunities for farmers and gardeners of all sizes and scales.
